Built by a builder, not a consultant.
SWMS Australia was started by Claus, Director of Hampton Homes on the Gold Coast — a fourth-generation builder with more than 35 years on site — because the safety paperwork market was full of lawyers and software companies and empty of anyone who'd actually held a nail gun.
Why this exists
Every builder we know has the same three problems: a SWMS that was downloaded off the internet years ago and never read; a WHS management plan written for another state; and a subbie turning up without either. The regulator doesn't care which of those it finds. We wrote the documents we wished someone had handed us in year one, and we keep them current when the legislation moves.
How the documents are made
Every template is drafted from the state's Act and Regulation, checked against the regulator's own guidance and codes, and then rewritten in plain English so a crew will actually read it. Each state's pack is reviewed when its legislation changes — and it changes more than people think (NSW remade its Regulation in 2025; SA and NT changed thresholds in 2026).
Hampton Homes
Hampton Homes is a luxury custom home builder on the Gold Coast, operating under 4C Construction Pty Ltd. The same team runs the sites, writes the systems, and answers the emails you send through this site. Claus is also the author of a book that helps homeowners navigate the building process.
What we don't do
We don't give legal advice, and we don't pretend a template makes you compliant on its own. The document is the start; the site-specific detail, the consultation with your workers and the follow-through are on you. Our job is to make sure the paperwork part is done properly, fast, and for less than the price of a day's labour.
